While Prince Harry was stranded in the Arctic waiting for a plane to land on the cracking ice so he could get back to work (and a wedding), it was clear that military charities are very important to both he and his brother, William. Kate Middleton obviously has taken this interest on too, having named eight military charities to her wedding gift charity collection (see below).

Kate Middleton and Prince William named Beatbullying as a charity that well-wishers can choose to donate to in lieu of wedding gifts.

Suggestions are that Kate Middleton was mildly bullied while at Downe House for young teenage girls, and there is little doubt that this is true. As the head mistress states, the school was “cliquey” and the girls “rather cruel”.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have issued a press release suggesting that their wedding guests make a donation to good causes in lieu of wedding gifts. They indicate that some of the donations would be dedicated to help New Zealand deal with rebuilding after the recent earthquake there. Prince William will soon visit New Zealand, so the timing is right.
